2012 Tacoma refreshed and restyled for release

The Toyota Tacoma exterior has been restyled and the interior upgraded for all 2012 models. The best-selling compact pickup truck in the U.S. market also received the new Entune audio system.

The redesigned hood, grille, headlamps and front bumper give the Tacoma a fresh look. Inside, the center-instrument panel features a new design and revised gauge cluster, as well as a new steering wheel. The redesigned center stack provides new power point locations and air conditioner/heater controls.

Final 25 Winners Announced for Toyota 100 Cars for Good

While Toyota has already begun awarding some winners, the manufacturer has announced the final 25 winners in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program.

“The final 25 winners of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Program are excellent examples of human compassion put into effective action,” said Jim Lentz, president of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. in a released statement. “It has been an honor to be a part of this program, and to highlight the good work done by non-profit organizations, and to help them expand their services. We congratulate all of the 100 Cars for Good winners, and thank them for leading the way in caring for their communities.”

In the last 25 chosen, the services range from child services to animal welfare and education.

Toyota introduces seventh-generation Camry

Tuesday was the unveiling of the redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry. The new Camry has a more spacious interior, quieter ride and sophisticated new design according to Toyota.

“The all-new 2012 Camry blends an evolution of the car’s values - such as comfort, efficiency, reliability and safety - with a more appealing design and engaging driving experience,” said Bob Carter, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager in a released statement. “Competition in the midsize sedan segment is the strongest it’s ever been, and the all-new Camry is designed to maintain its long-standing leadership while also broadening its appeal.”

Toyota Delivers First Cars to Winning Organizations

Monday, Toyota delivered the first car in its “100 Cars for Good” program.

The Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center in Morristown, NJ received a new Toyota Sienna minivan from the Toyota of Morristown dealership. Toyota Motor North America President Yoshimi Inaba was in attendance to celebrate the event. The kitchen serves the homeless, poor and elderly in Morristown and surrounding areas year-round.

Tuesday, the Laura Recovery Center for Missing Children in Friendswood, Texas received a Toyota Prius from the Toyota Center in Houston. Jim Lentz, president of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. delivered the Prius on the company’s behalf. The Laura Recovery Center works to prevent abductions and runaways and to recover missing children.

The final vehicle delivery on Wednesday featured a Highlander Hybrid SUV delivered to Sol Collective, a Sacrament, Ca. community-based partnership that uses art, education and technology to empower residents. Bob Carter, group vice president and general manager for Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc., represented Toyota in the delivery.

“While we have a history of giving to nonprofit programs, 100 Cars for Good is the first Toyota initiative to put the public in the driver’s seat of one of our major philanthropic efforts,” said Toyota Motor North America President and Chief Operating Officer Yoshimi Inaba, in a released statement. “It’s an honor for Toyota to contribute to the work of 100 great organizations, which are providing valuable and much-needed services to our communities. They are an inspiration for all of us in helping others.”
